History:
Noah Evans was born in Valhalla to two loving parents. He is a descendant from Asgard. His father was a blacksmith, and his mother was a warrior. He did not turn out like most babies though. When he became a toddler, he started to get very sick all the time. He was weak and pale, and he was constantly coming down with various ailments. No one could figure out how to cure him, and his parents were too proud to ask for a favor when they felt their lives were there to serve the agents instead of the other way around. His parents loved him deeply. He has had a very strong sense of family since he was a young child, and they always showed him a lot of care and protection. With his being such a young, sickly thing, they worried over him constantly as well.

Growing up, he was an outcast. He wasn't strong like the rest of the people around him. He was too thin and too pale, and he ended up being made fun of by some bullies for most of his life. He had one friend who stayed by his side when he was nine, which kept him from becoming completely bitter at the world. He saw the good in another person who chose to look out for him and never treated him any differently despite the fact Noah was very different. One day when Noah was fifteen, he was intensely sick, his mother was called to battle, and she died there. He often worried later that it was because she was so distracted thinking about him that she couldn't fulfill her duty as a warrior as she ordinarily would have if she'd had a healthier son. He had always hated being as sick as he was, but losing her took that hatred to a new level until he could not even stand his own skin, his own body. He wanted to rip it apart at times for being weak.

While his friend became a warrior, Noah was relegated to armory duty, cleaning and polishing and maintaining the weapons there, which even that he had to do slowly, feeling like less than all of the people around him. He wasn't even strong enough to be trusted to guard the place. When he was in his twenties he realized he could not live like this anymore. It was getting worse. He was sick all the time, and shortly after he became twenty two, he really did come close to dying. It terrified him. More than that, he was tired of being so weak within his own world, unable to fight, unable to make a difference. Noah went looking for an agent who could change that, and he found an agent willing to make a deal that would save his life in Attar. He made that deal in secret. He traded longevity and a part of his soul to become a demon who was then ultimately and then... indefinitely under Attar's control. During this time, Noah did many a terrible thing for Attar without a choice to fight back against anything he disagreed with, including stealing from that very armory to get Attar what he needed, which ultimately freed Loki.

After approximately two decades (twenty two years) with Attar never being satisfied enough to let him go, Noah decided to take matters into his own hands, tired of having to do all these terrible things which he had to live with. He heard about a Sea Witch who was an expert when it came to deals. Noah tracked her down, and she warned him that doing so could get him killed, but he was willing to take that risk to be free of Attar.

Personality:
Noah can best be summarized as having the personality of an old man and of a cat. This was true even before he was actually old in years. He is a loner who appreciates having time to himself. When he's angry, he has a habit of making a mess in some way or another even if that's just shoving over objects in an angry fit. He's got a temper, which can be quick to light up. He can be quick to jump to violence as the answer though never to kill unless that is on the battlefield. However, he'll use his fists without much of a thought in everyday interaction. Noah can be very direct too, and he also has a bad habit of being impulsive, which has not really gone away in all his years of living despite the places that impulsiveness have led him to. He has absolutely no tolerance for bullies due to being bullied when he was growing up since he was the palest, sickliest viking of them all, and he did not fit in with the rest of them. He was the Rudolph of Vikings. No one let him join in any Viking games. As a result, if he runs into someone he considers being a bully, he will act pretty rashly and be very protective of whoever is being bullied.

He is also intensely loyal. When he was younger, the fear of dying took over his sense of loyalty, but after where that choice led him, he has become an intensely loyal person again to those who deserve it. Noah doesn't let people in easily, but when he does, he will do anything for them and he can be very caring for those he does let in and care about. There's a protective and nurturing side to him, which few people ever really get to see because he can be guarded of the more vulnerable parts of himself. In Teleios, he is likely to feel protective toward anyone suffering under this type of forced control or anyone who has been through something similar simply because of his own past experiences.

He has changed some as he has grown older. While he still has all the personality traits listed above, they're a little more subdued now in a subtle but significant way. Noah is more willing to act out as a protector and a guardian of other people than he ever would have been when he was much younger. He has more understanding of other individuals, and he has more patience too. He's less selfish, because he sees the error of his own ways in the past, and he wants to make up for what happened and for those who were harmed due to his choices. There are a lot of emotions boiling up inside of him all the time which he tries to keep on lock down, hide behind his brashness and his directness and his walls. Sometimes people call him an asshole, but he's really not. He's just very direct, and he's never afraid to speak his mind. No matter where he is or who he is with.

Ultimately, he has an intense amount of self hatred and guilt for what he did while having made that first deal, which saved his own life but caused a lot of harm to other people. Now he'll ironically live much, much longer than he would have otherwise, which is actually quite the lonely existence when everyone hates you but one he feels he deserves. He views himself as a coward though he will throw himself into fights and situations rather recklessly without thought to himself. Many of the actions he tries to take, it's done as a penance for what he has done in the past. It's really what has been driving him for decades now, trying to make up for what he has done in the past, trying to make his father and mother who were incredibly moral, strong warriors... proud instead of ashamed of him and his choices.

Noah hasn't had very many friends in his life. He had one friend through childhood but after his choice, they obviously rejected him and felt betrayed. It's not a friendship that Noah has ever been able to mend again. He's made a couple of friends among the other warriors, but a lot of people know what he did in the past. When he does have a friend, he'll stick close to them. He'll do anything for them, and he'll have their back no matter what especially in light of what a terrible friend he'd been before. He tends to make friends withpeople who are more outcasts, who treat others well, who are grumps or loners like him. As for his enemies, it depends on who the enemy is. If it's a rivalry, he'll be direct with his anger at them and not back down. If it's Attar, well, that's another story. He tends to shut down.

In Teleios, Noah will feel like he deserves to be there likely more than most of the Indebted given his crimes. He will also want to help it succeed for that reason. He related a lot to people who have giant lists of crimes, who have made terrible mistakes but are trying their best to reform now. It's a city full of misfits from all walks of life, and he'll really love that about it. He's never been before, because of what Attar had him steal and what that led to, and he'll be conflicted being in the city now, irrationally wondering if he won't do it more harm than good, but he'll also really love it.

Powers/Abilities: Because of his deal with Attar and then subsequent breaking the deal with him, Noah is half a demon, which means he has longevity, enhanced strength and speed, red glowing eyes, natural inclinations toward aggression & violence, telekinesis.

Appearance:

He's really tall with blue eyes which sometimes shift to glowing red and blond hair with a British accent, usually wearing armor of some kind.If not, he's in tunics or vests as he definitely doesn't wear or recognize clothing from like our world.

If your character has never been to Teleios before, why are they deciding to come now? What do they want to get out of the city?
When Sarah leaves to go to Valhalla, he'll hear more about what is happening in Teleios, and he will make his way there as soon as possible, because of his own experience being under the control of an agent. Noah would want to do whatever he could to break that control, which others have been forced into without a choice unlike the one he had. He'll also stay to help change the course of what is happening in the city as a means of making up for his many, many past sins.

Dearest mom,

I haven't even thought about talking to you since you died, but maybe I should have. Maybe if I'd thought about it when I was a miserable asshole... I wouldn't have made the deal I did. I would have remembered what you said and what you believed. We're made as we're supposed to be. Everyone has a purpose even those who are too sick to do much of anything. It was easy for you to say. You were strong and beautiful and blond and everything... everything our people were supposed to be. I'm not at all doing a good job at remaining un-bitter. Un-angry. I've got a temper especially now, which I am certain you never would have imagined of the young, weak, sick thing I once had been.

Now I've been trapped in this deal for twenty two years. That is exactly half of my entire life, and I'm bloody tired of being the errand boy for Attar. I have done so many terrible things.

If you met me, you would hate me. I would be someone you had dedicated your life to killing. When I think about that, I get so sick.

So two decades later, I am here with a letter in Byblos searching down a Sea Witch who will either free me from this cursed deal or lead me to the death I should have had twenty four years ago, but I was too selfish for it.

If I survive, I promise you I

I promise

I will do better.

I will be better.

I love you. I'm sorry.

Prose Sample:
Noah reads over the letter in his hands, which he wrote before making this journey to Byblos. He isn't entirely certain where he might find the Sea Witch, which he's heard of, but he finds... with the beings in these universes, where there's a will, there's a way to meet them. It's not the first time he's sought out someone far more powerful than himself after all. It doesn't matter how many of the locals tell him that it's a terrible idea. He glances their way with a sharp look, a lock of his jaw. His eyes glow red, and it's all he needs to do. No words. No violent movements. They take a step back and then another and another, and they tell him what he needs to know. They point him in the right direction.

He's used to that reaction naturally, but people tend to not tell him what to do once they realize what he is.

It's not as though he cares. Part of his soul has been sold away willingly. Whether this results in his death or being bound to a Sea Witch instead, it's better than remaining in Attar's debt any longer.

Over two bloody decades.

The agent would have him for all of eternity if he doesn't act now so he moves through Byblos, taking in the many ways it differs from Valhalla. He has traveled beyond his home realm plenty working for Attar, but this is the first time he has been to this particular realm. They all have their own points of interest, don't they?

He crumples the letter between his hand, tearing it to bits and dropping it along his way, leaving the words and the sentiments behind them on the ground, knowing they're written in his heart regardless
