New World Order } Breaking Free

Backstory

Noah Evans is a descendent of refugee Asgardians who lived in Valhalla and then became a demon after making a deal with and selling his soul to Attar to save his life. This put him under Attar's control where he was forced to do whatever Attar wanted him to do. For two decades this went on, Attar refused to let Noah free so Noah decided to fight for his own agency. He went to a Sea Witch to break this deal. Despite the fact, it could kill him, he took the chance and went through the trial to break Attar's control on him. It worked, but now he's a half demon forever but he's alive and he's out from Attar's control

When Sarah goes to Valhalla with another character (tbd), Noah will find out what's going on with other people forced under agent control like he was (though his was not forced but this is his penance), and he'll be sneaking back in with Sarah and the Sea Witch to help these people forced under an agent's control break from it.

What's going to happen?

If your character has been forced under Loki's control, Noah will be coming in soon. He will find them, and he will let them know how they can be free including the risks involved and what will happen.

The Sea Witch will cast a spell, and this will enter the characters involved into a dream like state. Within this dream like state, they will have to travel and face something inside of themselves. It could be a fear, an insecurity, a regret, an anger, a loss, which will be incredibly difficult and painful for them to face. It will be like a terrible nightmare. It will ultimately be up to the mun to decide what it is that they need to face and accept from their lives.

They have to come to peace with whatever it was both verbally as well as within themselves. When they do that, they will come upon a symbol of the agent's control over them which will likely manifest as a monster, and they will defeat it.

Anchors

They need two anchors to go through this trial.

They need an anchor who has already been through this trial, which Noah will be for all of those who need it. Part of his penance for his decades of sins is risking his life to help others go through this.

They can also choose one other person from their life to act as an anchor from their life. However, the catch is that they cannot be someone who is already claimed by an agent, because the spell could be confused and break the wrong bond. This does not include those claimed by emissaries, demigods, or those who are bound to an agent without a deal involved (natives).

Risks

1) If you die within the dream state, you could enter a coma-like state in real life, which you can be healed from but... would suck. This applies to both the individual under the agent's control as well as the anchors. The individual who is under the forced control also has a chance of dying if it doesn't succeed. It's those with a strong will and determination to succeed versus the monsters they face within the dream/nightmare.

2) It's dangerous. Loki could find out. Any number of things could happen while they are in this state.

3) The magic spell takes time. It is also incredibly exhausting for all those who have participated so not all of those under forced control can be helped simultaneously, it would have to be one at a time with significant space in between to rest, and this leaves them vulnerable for a longer amount of time.

It also presents a sense of dread and suspense within the plot allowing it to be dragged out throughout time. Who goes first? Will they be successful? Who will go next? Who decides they can wait longer? How do they make this decision to start with?

Opt-Outs

If your character is forcibly under an agent's control, this is still a choice for them. They could decide the risk is too great. They could decide they don't trust Noah and the Sea Witch. They could think the wait and see option is better than trying this. So the opt out is really easy!

My character is not going to be an anchor/is not forced under an agent's control, but they would still love to help these characters get free!

You're in luck! The spell takes a lot of time, and all those who are participating in this spell will all be vulnerable during this. Interruptions could be catastrophic. They'll need people to guard the room naturally. They'll need people ready with food and water and meds for those who are lost in this dream for when they come out.

However, they will also need people to provide distractions around the rest of the Temple to keep them from being discovered What kind of distractions? Big, chaos types of distractions.

Cause damage! Get in pretend fights with another people or group of people over anything and everything. Plan and create riots together. Break things! Let loose some dragons (okay, maybe not that...)

Basically, anything the characters can think to do to create a large disturbance and distraction while this spell is going on would be amazing. I think this could be a lot of fun. Characters have encouragement to do all kinds of random things.
